2021.09.08

How's your cervical spine?

Do you have neck pain or stiffness?

If you have dizziness, headaches, memory loss, or difficulty concentrating?

If you have numbness or pain in your upper limbs, weakness or inflexibility in your hands?

Whether your lower limbs are numb, heavy, and your feet feel like stepping on cotton when walking?

Do you have severe, sharp, discharge pain that occurs when the head or upper limb is improperly positioned or suddenly pulls on the affected limb?

Do you have nausea or even vomiting, or feel a belt binding sensation in the chest, abdomen, or lower extremities?

If you have the above symptoms, you are likely to suffer from cervical spondylosis, how to solve the problem of cervical spine, relieve cervical spondylosis trouble?

First, traditional treatment

Neck traction, wearing neck support, manual massage, physiotherapy, open surgery, etc。

2. Specialty treatment of pain department

(A) The pain department summarized the treatment experience as "three steps eight rule of law cervical spine" :

1.Three steps: Accurate diagnosis and accurate treatment in Western medicine

The first step is "target treatment" -- minimally invasive decompression for herniated intervertebral disc;

The second step is "visual treatment" -- ultrasound-guided cervical nerve release and nutrition;

The third step is "dredging fascia" - heat acupuncture in fascia to treat neck and shoulder myofascitis。

2.Eight Methods: TCM "Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment" and "Holistic View"

(1) herbal medicine taken internally;

(2) external application of traditional Chinese medicine;

(3) structural acupuncture;

(4) needle knife loosening;

(5) Ear acupuncture treatment;

(6) acupoint burying;

(7) Manual therapy;

(8) Wrist and ankle needles。

(2) Minimally invasive surgical treatment:

1.Radiofrequency ablation: It is a technique to treat disc herniation by precisely outputting high-frequency radio waves through a specific puncture guide needle to heat coagulate the diseased tissue or atrophy the nucleus pulpoideus of the intervertebral disc。With accurate positioning, full visual monitoring, safe and effective。

2.Percutaneous foraminoscopic extraction of nucleus pulposus: Minimally invasive surgical techniques such as percutaneous foraminoscopic removal of the intervertebral disc can reduce the surgical injury and achieve good results。

3. Rehabilitation nursing

1.Living adjustment: Avoid cold in hot summer, avoid fans and air conditioners blowing directly on the neck, pay attention to shoulder and neck warmth, do not directly blow cold air or rinse the head and neck with cold water after sweating。Pay attention to posture to avoid bending the neck for a long time, bowing the head, long-term desk work。

2.Sports therapy: appropriate participation in running, swimming, badminton, volleyball, tennis and other physical exercise and traditional Chinese medicine of tai chi, eight Duan Jin, five poultry play and other sports。

3.Dietary guidance: Usually should be more intake of strong tendons and bones of food, including tendons (such as sheep tendons, beef tendons, deer tendons, etc.), beans, white fungus, sea cucumber, wolfberry, sesame, black fungus, sweet potato, walnut, whitebait, egg, seaweed, cheese, seaweed, goat milk, etc。

4.The correct use of the pillow: the length of the pillow is 40cm-60cm, the height is equal to the height of the fist when the person is lying on the back, and the height of the pillow should be the width of one shoulder when lying on the side。

5.Eight Dan Jin Gong practice:

Baduanjin has the functions of softening muscles and bones, invigorating qi, activating blood and coordinating the five viscera and six fu-organs。It is used to relax muscles and tendons, improve blood circulation, and strengthen muscles and bones;It can improve the regulatory function of nerves and body fluids, promote blood circulation, and has a conditioning effect on cervical spine diseases caused by strain。

Knowledge guide

The cervical vertebra, located between the head, chest and upper limbs, is the smallest of the spine vertebrae, but has the greatest flexibility, the highest frequency of movement, and the highest weight bearing segment。Due to long-term cervical strain, bone hyperplasia, or disc herniation, ligament thickening, resulting in cervical spinal cord, nerve root or vertebral artery compression, sympathetic nerve stimulation, resulting in cervical spondylosis。

According to the different tissues and structures involved, cervical spondylosis can be divided into four types。

1.Cervical spondylosis of nerve root type: This type has the highest incidence, accounting for about 60% to 70%。The main lesions were compression of cervical nerve roots due to narrowing of the foramen, which was more common in the 4th to 7th cervical vertebrae。The most common age group is 30~50 years old。

2.Cervical spondylotic myelopathy: This type is the most dangerous, and the main lesions are cervical spondylotic diseases leading to spinal cord compression, inflammation, edema and so on。The most common age group is 40~60 years old。

3.Sympathetic cervical spondylosis: The main lesion of cervical spondylosis is to stimulate the sympathetic nerve endings around the cervical spine。The most common age group is 30~45 years old。

4.Vertebral artery type of cervical spondylosis: Due to bone spurs compression of the vertebral artery or blood vessel variation resulting in insufficient blood supply。The most common age group is 30 to 40 years old。

 Tips: In daily life, many patients with cervical spondylosis choose to massage in the occurrence of neck and shoulder pain, but not all types of cervical spondylosis can be massaged, such as cervical spondylosis myelopathy patients do massage, may lead to acute spinal cord injury, and even cause paralysis。Therefore, patients must go to the hospital for a clear diagnosis before massage, and massage can be done after the doctor agrees。
